The Instagram story captured Draisaitl and Bouchard singing near a mic. Draisaitl was playing a guitar and was completely immersed in the moment. Beside him, Bouchard had his phone in one hand, potentially looking at the lyrics, drawing smiles from teammates.

McDavid was enjoying the moment like a fan from the front row while recording the moment on his phone. Wearing a shirt with stripes, the Oilers captain was watching the performance with a smile. Matthew Savoie, Colton Dach, Jake Walman, and Jason Dickinson could also be seen behind McDavid, enjoying the performance.
The video drew attention because it highlighted a different side of Edmonton’s leadership group. After a frustrating season, the relaxed atmosphere suggested the players are eager to begin the new campaign with fresh energy.
Oilers’ team chemistry could prove just as important as roster changes
Edmonton has spent the offseason reshaping nearly every part of its roster. General manager Stan Bowman replaced head coach Kris Knoblauch with Mike Babcock, overhauled the blue line, and rebuilt the goaltending group after a disappointing first-round playoff exit.
The Oilers also traded Darnell Nurse, added Jake Walman and Connor Murphy on defense, and brought in Frederik Andersen and Devon Levi to strengthen the crease. Young forwards such as Matthew Savoie and Isaac Howard are expected to play larger roles as the team searches for greater lineup balance.
Those moves address several weaknesses exposed during last season. However, championship teams also depend on trust inside the dressing room. Offseason events like this cannot predict playoff success, but they help strengthen relationships before training camp begins.
McDavid and Draisaitl remain the franchise’s driving forces after combining for 235 regular-season points in 2025-26. Bouchard also produced 95 points from the blue line, confirming his importance despite defensive criticism.
