Rodri, the Ballon d’Or winner and Manchester City midfielder, has praised Mohamed Salah as the toughest opponent he’s faced in the Premier League. In a recent interview, Rodri was asked to name the most difficult player he’s come up against. He mentioned Lionel Messi as the toughest overall, but for the Premier League, he picked Salah.

Rodri explained that playing against Salah, especially at Anfield, feels like “a knife.” He said, per empireofthekop.com,

“In his time, it was Leo [Lionel Messi]. In the Premier League, I would say [Mo] Salah, probably in his prime. Especially when you go to Anfield, it’s like a knife. He is very difficult to play against.”

Since Rodri joined Manchester City in 2019, he has faced Salah and Liverpool 13 times. In these matches, Salah scored eight goals.

Salah’s ability to consistently perform against tough teams like City shows why he is so highly regarded. His quick movement and sharp skills make him a difficult player to stop. Rodri’s praise for Salah is a big compliment, especially considering Rodri’s own success in the game.

For Liverpool fans, this recognition from Rodri is another sign of Salah’s importance in the Premier League. He has proven time and again that he is one of the best players in the league.

Rodri to Receive Special Ovation at Etihad Stadium After Ballon d’Or Win Ahead of Tottenham Clash

Rodri, the recent Ballon d’Or winner, will be celebrated at Etihad Stadium before Manchester City’s match against Tottenham on Saturday. He will receive his trophy on the pitch and be honored by the fans.

He won the Ballon d’Or after an outstanding season, beating players like Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham. The club will also offer free Rodri shirt printing at the Etihad and CityStores.

Rodri is recovering from ACL surgery after getting injured in a match against Arsenal in September. This will be his first return to the Etihad since then. His absence has coincided with City’s recent poor form, with four consecutive losses. Saturday’s game against Tottenham will be an important challenge for Pep Guardiola’s team.
