Connor McDavid reached two major milestones in one game, hitting 400 career goals and 1,200 points during Edmonton Oilers’ 5-2 win over the Utah Mammoth. He achieved both on Tuesday night with a two-goal performance built on timing and control.

The NHL shared the moment on X, posting, “1,200 POINTS FOR CONNOR MCDAVID!! 🔵🟠,” and the response was immediate.

Soon, McDavid’s milestone sparked a wave of reactions from the hockey community, with fans quick to celebrate his place among the greats.

Another fan pointed out the elite company he keeps, noting only Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux reached the mark faster. “The only 2 others to get there faster… Gretzky and Lemieux 🤯” he said.

“Buddy got 1000 just last year,” A fan wrote.

“You cannot stop him!! GOAT of hockey right now and it isn’t close! That’s our captain, baby, congratulations!! He’s surpassing 2000 by the time his career is over, no doubt.” One fan praised.

“CONNOR MC JESUS,” A fan wrote using McDavid’s nickname in the hockey community.

“That’s my captain, man,” One fan wrote, while another said, “1200? The mf goat!!!”

A fan summed it up saying, “Best in the business.”

McDavid’s first goal marked the 400th of his career, while the second, an empty-netter, secured his 1,200th regular-season point. He reached the milestone in just 784 games, the third-fastest in NHL history.

March has been productive for the Oilers’ captain, with five goals and 10 assists in 11 games. He now sits on 40 goals and 78 assists through 72 appearances this NHL season.
