“Hard Way”: Fans React as Oilers Edge Senators in OT for 30th Win

The Edmonton Oilers secured their 30th win of the season with a 5-4 overtime victory against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday at Rogers Place. Edmonton improved to 30-24-8 after rallying from a two-goal deficit. The Oilers pushed the pace throughout the night and outshot Ottawa 37-21.

The comeback finished in overtime. Defenseman Evan Bouchard scored the winner on the power play to seal the victory.

Forward Leon Draisaitl led the charge with two goals and 5 assists, and captain Connor McDavid had two assists. McDavid now has 105 points this season and remains the league’s top scorer.

Ottawa opened the scoring early in the first period. Dylan Cozens beat the Oilers’ goaltender with a snap shot at 3:34 to make it 1-0. Edmonton responded less than two minutes later when Leon Draisaitl tied the game with a wrist shot at 5:03. The Senators regained the lead at 6:34 as Drake Batherson scored on the power play. Draisaitl struck again late in the period, scoring unassisted at 16:48 to send the teams into the intermission tied 2-2.

In overtime, Ottawa took a penalty that proved costly. Bouchard blasted a power-play slap shot at 1:50 to complete the comeback and secure the win.
