Manchester United have signed Danish left wing-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. The 20-year-old will fly to Manchester on Wednesday. His medical is scheduled for Thursday before he finalizes his move.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano tweeted on X,
“Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Lecce, documents to be checked in next 24h. Fee will be €30m plus €5m in add-ons not guaranteed. Long term contract agreed days ago with the player… …and first signing for Rúben Amorim. 🤝🏻”
Deal Details and Financial Breakdown
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that United and Lecce reached a verbal agreement. The deal is worth €30 million upfront, plus €5 million in add-ons, making a total of €35 million. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio suggests the package could reach €37.5 million, including higher bonuses.
This signing shows United’s intent to strengthen their squad despite financial constraints under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). United secured their primary left wing-back target after two earlier bids were rejected.

What’s Next for Manchester United?
Dorgu is the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era. United may now focus on more reinforcements, especially in midfield and attack, before the transfer window closes.
Dorgu is expected to integrate into the squad quickly. His arrival could solve United’s left-back issues and add an attacking option on the flank.
“Manchester United have booked medical tests for Patrick Dorgu on Thursday, plan confirmed. Verbal agreement reached yesterday as reported for €30m plus €5m add-ons. He’s gonna fly to Manchester with his agents to complete the move.” Romano wrote in another tweet.
