A video from Sunday’s El Clásico went viral, showing Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal appearing to provoke Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr. A football page on X shared the clip with the caption,
“Lamine Yamal provoking Vinícius Jr during the El Clásico match. The media won’t show you this.”
The video quickly drew reactions from fans. One person wrote,
“Lamine teaching how to make a d*g b*rk.”
“Lamine is that coward in the back of everyone talking the most s**t because he knows guys will defend him, absolute fake tough guy and it’s hilarious,” Another fan said.
“With each coming day their cries are louder😤🤍” one fan wrote.
“I remember when they used to say that Cristiano was the bad guy of the movie,” another fan mentioned.
“Yamal, The ultimate rage baiter,” a fan replied.
“A lot of traction for this from a team that has won 1 out of the last 5 matches. 🤡” one fan said.
Before the match, Yamal had already caused tension by saying, “El Madrid roba, se queja,” which means
“Madrid steals, complains.”
During the game, cameras caught Vinícius saying, “Solo pases atrás” or
“You only play backward passes.”
Yamal replied, “No te entiendo, háblame,” meaning
“I don’t understand you, talk to me.”
Tensions Flare Between Vinícius Jr and Lamine Yamal After Heated El Clásico
After the match, emotions ran high. Vinícius moved toward Yamal in the tunnel and was held back by staff. Yamal seemed ready to continue the argument, but officials stopped it from escalating.
Real Madrid won the match 2–1. Vinícius told Real Madrid TV afterward,
“We didn’t want to offend anyone, not the Barca players or fans. El Clásico is like that. There’s a lot of emotion.”
Coach Xabi Alonso said the post-match argument was normal.
“It’s part of the tension in big games,” he said. “We don’t need to make too much of it.”
The video continued to spread online, with fans debating who was in the wrong. Some supported Yamal for standing his ground, while others said he showed disrespect.
Both clubs chose not to comment further on the exchange.
