Ronaldo’s decisive strike came in the 65th minute, following a brilliant backheel assist from Otávio. This marked Ronaldo’s 18th goal of the season and brought him level with Aleksandar Mitrović as the league’s top scorer, both having 12 goals. The win pushed Al Nassr into third place, keeping their title hopes alive.

The match shifted in Al Nassr’s favor after Al Khaleej’s Al Hamsal received a red card in the first half. Ronaldo’s goal brought his career tally to 918 goals, moving him closer to his 1,000-goal target.

Despite not winning major titles with Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s impact has been undeniable. He has helped his team with 82 goals and 18 assists during his time at the club. The Portuguese star’s only silverware came in the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s classy response to Messi chants wins praise

Cristiano Ronaldo showed class during Al Nassr’s match against Al Taawoun on January 17. The home fans chanted Lionel Messi’s name to provoke him. Instead of reacting negatively, Ronaldo smiled and gave them a thumbs-up. A video of this moment went viral, and fans praised Ronaldo’s gracious response.

Ronaldo started the game as Al Nassr aimed to narrow the gap with league leaders Al Hilal. Despite creating 19 shots, Al Nassr managed only a 1-1 draw. Aymeric Laporte scored in the 64th minute to cancel out Al Taawoun’s early lead. Ronaldo, who had scored five goals in his last four games, couldn’t find the net this time.

On January 19, Messi also grabbed attention during Inter Miami’s friendly against Club America. Messi scored in the 34th minute and helped his team win on penalties. After being booed by the crowd, he responded with a three-finger gesture symbolizing Argentina’s three World Cup wins and turned to display his iconic number 10 jersey.
