On Sunday, FC Barcelona shared the news on their social media about the launch of its first official digital card album. It is part of their move into digital collectibles. The project is led by Barca Vision and uses the Collectibol platform.
On X (Formerly twitter), they wrote:
“THE OFFICIAL Barça digital Cards 🔵🔴 Gotta catch the players 😏 @collectibol”
The collection has 180 digital cards. These include players from the men’s and women’s first teams. It also features club legends, images of Spotify Camp Nou, different versions of the club badge, and the club mascot, CAT.
Here’s a look at Lamine Yamal‘s card:
Each digital card has unique design features. Some cards also show signs of digital wear and tear. This gives them the feel of traditional collectible items. Fans can view their collection in real time and trade cards with others.
FC Barcelona worked with Collectibol to create this first digital album. Collectibol is a digital collecting app made by Algoritcom, a tech company based in the city. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
The project supports FC Barcelona’s digital strategy. It helps the club connect with younger fans, including millennials and Gen Z. The goal is to create cultural moments through digital content. Collectibol gives clubs the tools to design their own digital albums. Teams can choose the look, themes, and rewards. Users who complete the album can unlock official Barca rewards.
Collectibol is designed to bring back the experience of traditional collecting, but in digital form. It also helps build a stronger connection between fans and their clubs. Now, this digital card launch marks a new step for the team in their digital journey.
Barcelona will start their Pre-Season on 13 July
FC Barcelona will start their 2925 pre-season on 13 July this year. Players will report for medical tests and assessments on that day. But their training officially begins the next day, 14 July, at the Ciutat Esportiva in Sant Joan Despí.
Barcelona will begin their Asia tour after ten days of training in the city. The team will travel to Japan for a 12-day trip that includes three friendly matches. Their first match will be on 27 July against Vissel Kobe at the Noevir Stadium. This game is part of Vissel Kobe’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The match will help Barcelona test their squad and get match fitness ahead of the new season.
The next stop is South Korea. Barcelona will face FC Seoul on 31 July at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, followed by a game against Daegu FC on 4 August. That match will take place at Daegu Stadium, which will also host a Premier League clash between Tottenham and Newcastle the day before.
Barcelona will end their Asia tour with a match against Daegu FC on 4 August. After that, they will return to the city to continue their pre-season. A short break follows before the team travels again, this time to Casablanca for another friendly on 7 August. This match was originally planned before the Asia tour, but the club and Hansi Flick agreed to move it.
The team will then get ready for the Joan Gamper Trophy match at Spotify Camp Nou. This game is set for 10 August, likely against Italian club Como.
