Erling Haaland Hails Cristiano Ronaldo as Ronaldo Prepares for Al-Fateh Friendly

Cristiano Ronaldo will play a friendly match against Al-Fateh on Wednesday as Al Nassr continue their schedule. The game comes as Ronaldo remains a key figure for club and country at 40. He has scored more than 950 career goals and keeps pushing forward. Ronaldo is also expected to captain Portugal at the 2026 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently extended his Al Nassr contract until June 2027. The deal means he plans to play until at least 42. His fitness level still draws praise across the football world. Many younger players look at his routine with respect.

Erling Haaland Praised Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is one of them. The 25-year-old said Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi inspire every football player. He praised their ability to stay at the top for over 15 years. Haaland said their careers show how to perform at the highest level for a long time.

“They are both inspirational,” Haaland said, via ESPN. “Cristiano maybe has let us in a bit more on the things he’s been doing. Look at how he takes care of his body! This is amazing. He’s 40, it’s incredible to still be able to play [at that age].”

The City striker added that it is not easy to keep going for so many years. He showed full respect for Ronaldo’s effort and focus.

“All respect to him for being able to do that. It’s not easy.” Haaland said.

Messi also earned praise from Haaland. The Argentine star, now 38, continues to shine in the United States. He led Inter Miami to their first MLS Cup on December 6. Messi also won the league’s MVP award and the Golden Boot again.
