On the 10th anniversary of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his thoughts. Fresh from his third term as Prime Minister, Modi tweeted about the campaign’s achievements. He praised the hard work of millions of Indians who contributed to its success. The initiative, launched on September 25, 2014, aims to make India a global manufacturing hub.

In his tweet, Modi said that ‘Make in India’ represents the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians. Over the past decade, the initiative has boosted exports and built capacities in several key sectors. This has helped strengthen the economy and create more opportunities for businesses and workers alike.

“Today, we mark #10YearsOfMakeInIndia. I compliment all those who are tirelessly working to make this movement a success over the last decade. ‘Make in India’ illustrates the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians to make our nation a powerhouse of manufacturing and innovation. It’s noteworthy how exports have risen in various sectors, capacities have been built, and thus, the economy has been strengthened. The Government of India is committed to encouraging ‘Make in India’ through all possible ways. India’s strides in reforms will also continue. Together, we will build an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat! @makeinindia”

‘Make in India’ was designed to position the country as a leading manufacturing destination. It has focused on job creation, skill development, and fostering innovation. Many industries, including electronics, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and defense, have seen growth due to this effort. The campaign also aligns with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision, which encourages self-reliance and reduces dependence on imports.

Over the years, India has also made business reforms to support this initiative. These include simplifying procedures and reducing red tape. Key reforms such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) have improved the business climate.

Narendra Modi completed 3 day US trip for Quad Summit

Modi recently returned from the Quad Summit in the U.S., which highlights India’s growing role in global affairs. The Quad, an alliance between India, the U.S., Japan, and Australia, focuses on areas like technology and security. India’s participation in such platforms supports its manufacturing goals and builds stronger ties with other countries.

During the Summit it was promised that US will help India in setting up a defense semi conductor manufacturing plant. It will further make India aatmnirbhar in crucial defense manufacturing sector.

Modi’s tweet stressed that the government is committed to expanding ‘Make in India’. He also emphasized that reforms will continue to help the manufacturing sector grow further. The aim is to build an “Atmanirbhar” (self-reliant) and “Viksit” (developed) Bharat.

The last decade of ‘Make in India’ has shown India’s potential to grow as a manufacturing hub. Modi’s leadership has set the stage for continued progress. The focus will remain on innovation, exports, and building a strong industrial base for the future.
